About Us
Blake and Meghan Gudenkauf along with their parents Eddie and Amy Dixon bought 11 acres of land to share north of Dallas in July of 2021. Blake’s dream of raising longhorns and Eddie’s passion for regenerative agriculture started and has grown to what we now know as Blackwood Farms.
With all four of us transplanting from Kansas City, MO, farm life was a new adventure that none of us were experienced in. Through many trials and tribulations, our land is now home to a flourishing herd of registered longhorns, pasture raised poultry, Nigerian Dwarf goats, guardian donkeys and honey bees. We have worked diligently to acquire elite genetics and a quality producing herd sire to contribute to the longhorn cattle industry.
Our goal is to continue building a strong and sustainable lifestyle in hopes of opening a
farm stand to our community with offerings of farm grown produce, lean longhorn meat, rich
honey and agricultural education. We are thrilled to share our story and our passions with fellow
farmers and ranchers throughout the country and invite you to visit our little slice of Texas
heaven!
